Solar panel removal & putback for Washington, DC roof replacements

Washington, DC roofs are aging out, and a new roof shouldn't cost you your solar investment. We remove, store and reinstall your array around your roofing schedule — often at little cost to you, since removal and putback is frequently covered by your insurance claim.

Choose your scope

Three ways to work with us, depending on what your roof project needs.

Removal only

We de-energize, detach and remove your array — ideal when a new system is going up or the panels are being retired with the old roof.

Removal & putback

The full reset: panels come off before the roofers arrive and go back in their original positions once the new roof is finished.

Solar collector removal & putback

Solar thermal collectors and their plumbing removed, drained, stored and re-tied into your system after the roof work.

How the reset works

1 — Removal, 1–2 days early

We pull the panels a day or two before your scheduled roof replacement so your roofing crew never waits on us.

2 — Safe storage

Modules, rails and microinverters are labeled and stored securely off the roof for the duration of the project.

3 — Every hole sealed

All mount penetrations are sealed with weatherproof sealant so the deck stays dry between removal and the new roof.

4 — Putback the next day

We schedule the putback for the day after roofing wraps. Every panel is restored to its original position and recommissioned.

6-month leak warranty

Every putback carries a written 6-month warranty against leakage at our mount penetrations.

Warranties stay intact

Our removal, putback and maintenance work does not void your existing panel, inverter or roofing warranties.

Often insurance-covered

When a roof replacement is part of an insurance claim, solar removal and putback is frequently covered — so you keep the benefit of your investment.
